Bolsa nova - New Bag

Esta é a bolsa "tamanho real" do prototipo que tinha feito. Ficou bem legal. O tecido é lindo!

This is the "full size" version of the prototype I had made. It turned out really nice. The fabric is great!

Primicias de 2010

Esta mini-necessaire é bem fácil de fazer, rápida e fica uma graçinha. Bom para presentear e para usar os restos de tecido e fibra que tiver sobrando.

Fiz um mini-protótipo (parece que me inspirei no MINI!) de uma bolsa. A bolsa vai ser grandona, mas pequena assim fica bonitinha também.

Bolsa Nova - New Bag

Chama-se Jenny Bag e tem o molde e instruções no blog lola...again. Bem fácil de fazer. Usei um patchwork que tinha feito de "charm squares" e gostei do resultado. Vai para uma amiga que faz aniversário... It's the Jenny Bag and the pattern and instructions are at lola...again. Nice and easy to make. I used patchwork I had made from charm squares some time back and loved the result. It's for a friend's birthday gift...

Chegou - It's here!

Chegou hoje no correio um pacote de muito, muito longe: da Estonia! Olha que lindo que ganhei da Siret (espero que é assim que escreve!), do intercambio de mini-bolsas. Muitissimo obrigada pelo lindo presente. O chocolate é delicioso...!

Today in the mail I got a package from very, very far away: from Estonia! Look at the pretty things I got from Siret (I hope that's how it's spelled!) from the mini-bag swap. Thank you so very much for the lovely gift. The chocolate is delicious...!

Finalmente - Finally

Finalmente quiltei o mini-quilt. Não dá pra ver na foto mas quiltei a mão. Não é o que mais gosto de fazer apesar de achar que fica lindo. Prefiro quiltar à máquina mas sempre é bom variar.

I finally quilted the mini-quilt. You can't tell in the picture, but I hand-quilted it. It's not my favorite thing to do eventhough I think the result is beautiful. I prefer machine quilting but it's always nice to try something different.

Distrai-me fazendo esta bolsa chamada Phoebe Bag . Bem fácil e rápida e dá para fazer variações. O molde está no site disponivel em pdf: só baixar, imprimir e costurar! No blog tem outras bolsas lindas, a maioria sem molde disponivel mas as idéias são ótimas.

Had some fun making this bag called Phoebe Bag. It's easy, quick to make and you can innovate with variations. The pattern is online for downloading in pdf: just download, print and sew! The blog has other beautiful bags, most of them don't have a free downloadable pattern bu the ideas are just great!

Intercâmbio de bolsinhas - Friendship Bag Swap

Estou participando deste intercâmbio. As inscrições já estão fechadas mas vale a pena visitar o site Quilting Bloggers onde tem blogs de quilteiras do mundo todo. Foi aqui que fiquei sabendo do intercâmbio e acho que vai ser bem legal. Trocaremos bolsinhas como esta e quem sabe receber algumas coisinhas interessantes de algum lugar remoto!

I'm participating in this swap. Registration is already closed but it's worth it to visit the website Quilting Bloggers where you can find quilter's blogs from all over the world. It was here that I found out about the swap and I think it will be really fun. We will swap bags like this one and who knows maybe even get some interesesting treats from some far-away place!

Pensando no próximo...

Pensandinho no que fazer... algo bonitinho, prático e nao muito demorado. Pra variar, só vem à mente justamente o contrário! Quando se trata de projetos pareço preferir os mais demorados. Mesmo assim, olha que graça:

Update no quilt de boneca...

Para aquela encomenda de quilt de boneca decidi fazer algo completamente diferente do que imaginava. Com certeza ficou do agrado da cliente.

The doll quilt I was making came out absolutely different from what i had imagined to make. Surely, the client will be satisfied.

Resgatados - Rescued

Todas temos projetos inacabados. Nos apaixonamos por alguma nova técnica, ou por um tecido maravilhoso, ou simplesmente precisamos algo novo... começamos e então fica quase pronto, faltando só um pouquinho, guardando-o para depois. E ali fica. No mundo do patch chamamos esses projetos de UFO's (unfinished objects). Hoje achei um monte deles, guardadinhos, esperando. Grandes e pequenos.

We all have unfinished projects. We fall in love with some new technique, or for some wonderful fabric, or we simply need something new... we start and then it is almost ready, needing just a little more work, and we stash it away until later. And there it stays. In quilting world we call these UFO's (unfinished objects). Today I found a bunch of them, stashed, waiting. Big and small.

Recebi uma encomenda para fazer um quilt de boneca. Meio que escolhi mais um quilt da Kim Diehl:

Tenho estes tecidos que comprei da Fat Quarter Shop, e pensei em usá-los. Mas talvez guarde os tecidos para algo maior, e as cores que me pediram não são bem estas!

Outra opção é fazer uns log cabins miudinhos.... vamos ver.

Mini-quilt

Mais uma vez, depois de muitos dias (demais!) de "folga" do meu patchwork, procurei inspiração nos meus livros prediletos de patch: Kim Diehl. Achei algo que pareceu divertido de fazer.

Fiquei dias cortando os quadradinhos (só dava tempo alguns quadradinhos por dia, acredite se quiser)...

Estou quase no fim, só falta terminar as aplicaçãoes e, claro, o quilting de tudo.

Comemorando Páscoa - Celebrating Easter

Na sexta-feira fiz estes trilhos, um para uma amiga e outro para mim. Uma variação rápida e divertida dos costumeiros coelhinhos e ovinhos de páscoa!

Tenho estes "scraps" guardados, de velhas calças jeans da familia, sem saber no que usaria. Hoje tirei e decidi usar parte deles para fazer outra bolsa. Pena que o tempo está quente demais para costurar e só deu para cortar parte da bolsa. Promete...

I had these jeans scraps , from some old family pants, stashed away without knowing what I would use them for. Today I took them out and decided to make another bag. Too bad the weather is just too hot to sew and I only cut part of the bag. It promises...

Mais uma bolsa - One more bag

A bolsa ficou linda! Um pouco trabalhosa, especialmente por causa da entretela grossa que dificulta alfinetar e costurar as partes franzidas. Tem partes que a máquina tem que ir bem devagarinho. Mas compensou o uso da tal entretela. A bolsa ficou bem estruturada. E o tecido, especial!

The bag came out beautiful! A little tricky, especially because of the stiff interfacing that makes pinning and sewing through the gathering somewhat difficult. In some parts the sewing machine needed to go very slowly. But using this interfacing was well worth it. The bag is well strucutred. And the fabric, special!
